Programmatic Specialist (Australia)
Role Purpose
The Programmatic Associate Partner is responsible for planning, activation and optimisation across Audio, BVOD/CTV, Display, DOOH and Video for Australian clients, ensuring effectiveness and contributing to Open Partners’ overarching AV strategy.
Based in Melbourne and working closely with UK-based teams, this role leads local campaign strategy, execution and market insight. It requires a high degree of ownership, proactivity and confident client management.
Programmatic Specialist (Associate Partner):
As a specialist activation role, the Associate Partner will be the primary point of contact for programmatic delivery—responsible for trading, optimisation, reporting, effectiveness, analysis and quality assurance.
Role Responsibilities
Plan and execute programmatic campaigns tailored to the Australian market.
Lead campaign delivery from brief to setup, budget management, optimisation, reporting and analysis.
Activate campaigns across DV360, Teads, and Amazon DSP.
Translate UK-led strategic direction into locally relevant media plans aligned to client KPIs.
Take full ownership of campaign performance, delivering clear insights and recommendations.
Build strong client relationships, delivering regular communication on strategy and performance.
Collaborate with UK colleagues while independently managing day-to-day activity.
Stay informed on regional trends, publisher developments and emerging technologies.
Role Details
Reports to: Programmatic Partner based in the UK, pastoral care provided by Client Partner in Aus
Responsible for: Programmatic delivery for Australian clients, with flexibility to support others as required
Location: Melbourne & Hybrid (please note - this role will be expected to work from the Clients office 2 days per week).
Hours / Days: 38 hours, over 5 days per week.
Contract basis: Permanent
To be successful in this role:
At least 3 years’ hands-on Programmatic experience, ideally within the Australian market.
Be self-driven, organised and able to manage multiple campaigns independently.
Show a positive, proactive and solutions-focused attitude — unafraid to take ownership.
Be confident and approachable, able to build strong client and internal relationships.
Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable presenting insights and recommendations.
Demonstrate strong commercial and analytical thinking, always driving effectiveness.
Skills & Experience required:
Must Have:
3+ years hands-on programmatic experience in the Australian market.
Proven end-to-end campaign management across planning, activation, optimisation and reporting.
Strong platform knowledge: DV360, Teads Ad Manager, Amazon DSP.
Proficient in Google Sheets / Excel and Google Slides / PowerPoint.
Experience across Display and Video, with exposure to Audio, DOOH or CTV a bonus.
Strong data analysis skills with actionable insight delivery.
Commercial awareness of working with global brands.
Excellent written and verbal communication, confident in client presentations.
Highly organised, adaptable and able to manage multiple campaigns independently.
Positive, proactive and relationship-oriented mindset.
Ability to prioritise and work autonomously within a distributed team.
Desirable:
Experience with Campaign Manager.
Google Marketing Platform certifications.
Advanced Excel / data handling.
Travel industry experience.
Familiarity with omni-channel DSPs (BVOD/CTV, DOOH, Audio).
Understanding of end-to-end measurement.
Degree in marketing, media, business or analytics.
Experience with Amazon Ads
